Happy Friday! After a March full of warmer temps and sunshine and a very gloomy April so far, we are ready to be in full-on spring mode. This month, we celebrated a beautiful Easter with our families, tried a few new recipes, and house projects took up a lot of our other free time (what a gift it is to be a homeowner!)
I’m so excited about this Friday Five series – once a month I will share a brief recap of five good things from the month or things I’m learning lately. I pray they bring you joy or encourage you to reflect or live a more simple + wholesome life, too!
Now onto five bits of goodness lately…
- House projects: My handy husband (and dad) hooked up our garage heater to our natural gas. Next winter will be even cozier with a warm garage! At the beginning of the month, we tackled painting all of our interior walls. The white really brightened everything up and we are loving it! We are so thankful for the help we had and especially my dad’s knowledge of the entire process. Next up, planning for decor.
- Very excited about my new bike. I outgrew mine and have been without one for 2 summers now. Envisioning many trips to the library and exploring some bike trails in our new city.
- Reading through the books of Numbers and Deuteronomy this month with The Bible Recap resource. Love the challenge of finding and learning new things about God’s character that comes with reading the Old Testament. I hope to share recaps of each book in the near future on the blog.
- We spent a weekend at our hunting land in northern Minnesota with some family. We do this every year but each year that passes, I am reminded just how much family times means to me and how much I cherish it. Being in the woods, laughing around a campfire, seeing the beautiful night sky and stars, and just being together – nothing beats those moments & memories.
- I baked a delicious loaf of homemade cheesy garlic dutch oven bread. I followed this recipe but adapted it a little. It went great with our chicken wild rice soup for these chilly April evenings we’ve been having. I have been experimenting with a lot of homemade goods such as artisan bread, my homemade granola, trying to start my own sourdough starter, etc. and will share more recipes as I go.
