It’s been over a year since our wedding and I’ve already noticed so many items I use weekly that I am so thankful for! Gifts like these have helped make our house a home. During wedding planning, registering for gifts didn’t come easy for me. I struggled to find concise must-have lists and then thinking through what things we wanted and what our style was a whole other struggle for me (indecisive!) So today, I wanted to share my tried and true registry list in hopes of helping you, if you’re anything like me.
I was so happy I was able to find all of our registry items still available (or very close matches for a few). Some advice I will leave you with is to register for the necessities to start your home and aim for high-quality. You will be using these things everyday! Also register for things that you might not buy yourself. Wedding guests are genuinely generous and are excited to help you begin this next chapter of your life.
Here are 15 must-have items I would recommend adding to your wedding registry:
1. KitchenAid Mixer. I was in for a happy little surprise when I realized just how much I would use this mixer! It makes baking fun, easy, quick, and creates minimal messes. I also love using it to easily shred chicken and pork.
2. White Dinnerware Set. I cannot say enough good things about having these dishes! We have another set that is more textured and has beige accents in it, but I always find myself reaching for this white set because your food looks so good on it and they are so durable.
3. Nespresso Vertuo. I went back and forth on registering for a Nespresso or fancy coffee maker. We drink black coffee with a good ole Mr. Coffee every morning but as a coffee lover, I enjoy making fun drinks or lattes every once in awhile. We absolutely love this Nespresso and I even got my husband hooked on it! These are my favorite pods as of late.
4. Knife Block Set. Everyone needs a new and reliable knife set! Love the kitchen scissors – we use them daily.
5. Bedding & Sheets. Your wedding is the perfect time to ask for quality bedding & sheets. I’m so happy we did! We also asked for several sets off of Amazon that are great quality, like this one.
6. Nightstand Lamps. Any type of home decor is great to ask for from your wedding guests. Fun for them to shop for, and will add character to your home. We absolutely love these lamps in our cozy master bedroom!
7. Woven Storage Baskets. You can never have enough baskets! We use these for logs as fireplace decor, to store blankets. I hope to get a plant/tree to put in one someday, too.
8. Dutch Oven. A beautiful kitchen addition. I used it a lot over the winter for soups, and have been doing a few dutch oven bread recipes. A lot of uses for this and looks beautiful sitting out, too.
9. Red Wine Glasses. These are so elegant and we use them all the time!
10. Electric Salt & Pepper Grinders. Our friends got us hooked on these. We want to buy them for all of our friends and families weddings now. Game changer!
11. Glass Tumbler Set. Love that this set comes with 2 sizes. We use these daily for water, milk, and even iced coffee. Super comfortable and love the detail at that bottom that makes them comfortable to grab/hold.
12. Ninja Blender. My husband actually bought one of these on his own before we were engaged, but I would recommend a Ninja blender to everyone! So affordable and great quality. Quickly blend up your morning smoothie or use it to mix up something for a baking recipe.
13. Hand Vacuum. This is one of our favorite gifts! I use it daily on our furniture for dog hair and on steps, rugs, etc. Needs to be charged probably weekly, but works awesome.
14. Glass Food Storage Containers. Easier on the environment, and will last a long time. Love the look of these and easy for meal prep for my husband.
15. Silverware Set. So happy we registered for a brand new flatware set rather than using what we had from over the years of living separately in college and post-grad. Definitely recommend!
Lastly, I would recommend giving your guests more options that you’d think, and at all price points! Also don’t forget to add things that you and your significant other enjoy, such as camping gear, games, or other electronics.
If you’re getting married soon, congratulations! And should you have any specific questions or need more advice, feel free to leave a comment below.
