The Friday Five – Volume 7

October 29, 2021 in The Friday Five
Cozy Apartment Kitchen

Wishing you a happy Friday! October flew by but was cherished in all its autumnal glory. We went on a camping trip to Door County, WI for our first wedding anniversary (Door County travel guide blog coming soon), enjoyed many fall walks in the woods, spent a day with my mom picking out pumpkins and mums, and watched a scary movie with my husband. My family unfortunately went through losing my amazing grandmother this month also. It has been tough to walk through, but I am reminded of the truths in Revelations 21:4, that in Heaven, everything is made right. She is with Jesus now, and is free from Alzheimer’s disease and the pain she was facing. I will truly miss her so much. Today, we are off to Iowa to visit my best friend for the weekend – looking forward to corn fields and quality time!

Here are five bits of goodness to kick off the weekend:

  1. Learning lately: I have been learning about not becoming ‘too satisfied’ in my faith. I feel like when we get comfortable is when we stop learning. We’re satisfied with knowing the Bible a little, we’re satisfied with occasional moments of ministry or godliness. The beauty of it all is that God knows we still have transforming to do, and He won’t stop loving us or give up until every ounce of sin is wiped away from every human. His grace is inspiring, and I am thankful for it.
  2. Recipe I’ve been loving: Made this white chocolate macadamia nut cookie recipe in a cookie competition with my aunt and mom. Will definitely be making again, and would absolutely recommend!
  3. Worth listening to: A new song by Hillsong Worship called That’s The Power, find it here. The best reminder that His power is our greatest weapon.
  4. Fall closet staple: this Eddie Bauer down jacket. So lightweight, and easy to throw on for a walk or running errands. Keeps you warm and isn’t too bulky. Got it last year and already have worn it so much this fall. Love the hood!
  5. Recent purchase: A updated pair of tennis shoes. Loving these so much! Seriously one of the most comfortable pairs of tennis shoes I’ve owned, it feels like you’re walking on clouds.
