I’ve always loved to read, and it hasn’t been until the last two years or so, that I’ve really gotten back into it. The feeling of cozying up and unplugging into a great book is the best.
I enjoy mostly Christian books, but have also recently gotten back into novels. They are perfect for summertime and are easy reads you can enjoy.
Here are 7 great books I’ve read so far this year that I would recommend:
Captivating // Discovering the glorious design of women that God originally intended.
Dangerous Prayers // Prayer moves the heart of God – but some prayers move Him more than others. He wants more for us than a tepid faith and half-hearted routines at the dinner table. He’s called you to a life of courage, not comfort.
Fighting Forward // With trust and a little time, each note and every small step adds up to a victorious anthem of showing up to this life and staying in the fight to become who God made you to be.
Where the Crawdads Sing // The novel that got me back into novels! Where the Crawdads Sing is at once an exquisite ode to the natural world, a heartbreaking coming-of-age story, and a surprising tale of possible murder.
Don’t Waste Your Life // “If you live gladly to make others glad in God, your life will be hard, your risks will be high, and your joy will be full.”
Radical // In Radical, David Platt challenges you to consider with an open heart how we have manipulated the gospel to fit our cultural preferences. He shows what Jesus actually said about being his disciple–then invites you to believe and obey what you have heard.
Wife After God // This devotional study was prayerfully composed with 30 days of biblical concepts and practical challenges to help you nourish your relationship with God and your relationship with your husband in marriage into ones that are captivating, intimate and extraordinary. My husband is doing the husband version which is also amazing.
