Happy Friday! I cannot believe it’s 4th of July weekend. June flew by but was filled with many sweet moments. At the end of May, we went on a couples trip to Florida which was such a fun getaway. I found out one of my very best friends is having their first baby, we listened to live music lakeside, have been enjoying our church group sand volleyball league, fishing, kayaking adventures, golfing, and time with our families. The rest of the summer will be busy with a big life change for us, but we also know a lot more summer fun is to come!
This week, I shared some 4th of July outfit ideas that can easily be worn as normal summer outfits as well and are all affordable pieces. My hope is always that these posts will help inspire you to create a wardrobe that is simple, effective and works for your lifestyle. The Q&A session on IG stories was so fun this week, and I’m excited to keep connecting with all of the wonderful souls on that platform.
Here are five bits of goodness to kick off the weekend:
- I made this delightful lemon pound bundt cake for an early birthday celebration for my husband! It was light, so flavorful and tasted like summertime.
- I’ve been wearing this black tank top on repeat. I love the cut of it and had been looking for this style for a long time. I love it for a hike or walk or with some jean shorts!
- Reading through a lot of Psalms lately with the Bible Recap. I never knew that the Psalms tied in with the stories told in both the New & Old Testaments – how amazing is that?! Psalm 23 is one of my favorite psalms and was also one of the bible verses for our wedding. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” I also was gifted this book from my mentor that breaks down each verse of Psalm 23 – it’s incredible and one of my favorite books to date.
- The new NeedtoBreathe music has been such a highlight over the last month! They are so talented and is such uplifting music to have on in our home. I’m loving this one the most. I also saw that Luke Combs is releasing two new songs this week – CANNOT WAIT. He is my all-time favorite.
- I snagged this curling iron last week because mine randomly quit working (I mean, I guess it had been like 5 years hahaha). I am loving my new one so far, and think it’s so awesome that it comes with the detachable clamp – basically 2 styles of irons in one!
