Excited to try Starbucks’ latest fall drink: the apple crisp macchiato? This easy recipe will help you recreate this amazing autumn beverage at home. I go back and forth with how I explain that I think it tastes, like apple crisp or like a caramel apple. Either way, it is a unique take on a fall drink that isn’t pumpkin flavored but is equally as cozy!
Let’s make an Apple Crisp Macchiato
Made with spices, milk and apple flavoring, this is sure to be a new go-to drink this fall. I definitely think you could make it as a fancied up apple cider as well if you hold the espresso!
Ingredients You’ll Need
I should note, this isn’t the exact Starbucks recipe – I simplified it, made it a lot easier and quicker and this uses less ingredients as well, we love that.
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon (If you don’t love cinnamon flavor, I would recommend 1/2 tsp)
- 1 tbsp vanilla syrup (You could use vanilla extract as well)
- 1 shot of espresso (or strong coffee)
- Milk of choice
- Apple juice
- Caramel syrup or sauce
How to Make an Apple Crisp Macchiato:
- Start by adding your brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla into your mug.
- Brew your espresso or coffee and pour into the spice blend and mix well.
- Froth a 1:1 ratio of milk & apple juice. I would recommend at least a 1/4 cup of apple juice to really get the apple flavoring to come through. (You can always microwave it and then shake it up to make the froth consistency.)
- Pour milk and apple juice mixture into the mug.
- Top with caramel drizzle and enjoy!
What do you think the last two drinks of Fall coffee week will be? Stay tuned!
